Baby Hasbrouck

Update on Baby Hasbrouck: I have reached the half way point!!! Whoo Hooo!!!! Yesterday Larry and I went in for our twenty week appt. and ultrasound. We are not finding out the gender so that is still a surprise but I thought I would share some of the ultrasound pictures. On the first one you have to look on the right side to see a good shot of the bottom of the foot! Enjoy:)

News from the Chi!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on here in quite a while. I hope you are doing well! Summer Project is in full swing with 8 college students and 8 staff. I am enjoying living by Sox Stadium and being closer to downtown and the lake shore. I have been getting in some good bike rides to the lake. I am also having fun with the college students.

Here is a picture with one of the girls i have been mentoring, Makalah. I got to go to her 8th grade graduation 2 weeks ago! It was a lot of fun to see her graduate after mentoring her for the past 3 years. I also got to see two of the other boys that I have worked with the past 5 years graduate. I have come to a better understanding why urban ministry needs to be a long time committment, because you really are able to live life with people and help them along the way, as you build trust and show Christ as well as sharing Christ to them. Continue to keep them in your prayers as they go on to high school.

a little bit of this a little bit of that

So a little update about many different things in life... the pictures are a little out of order so bare with me as I explain the different images and their meanings.
First- although disappointing to see the end result Larry and I did enjoy watching the Butler basketball game with our friends as they competed for the Nation Championship again this year. (the group shot and Tulip with Kent and the bulldog shirt are from this occasion.)
Second- some shots of Tulip our adorable kitten who really has taken a liking to Larry and can often be found perched on his shoulder as he goes about his work- awwwww
Third- the half marathon and marathon weekend in St. Louis. Sarah completed the Marathon in a blazing time of 3 hours and 35 minutes; while Kim and I ran the 1/2 marathon together in a respectable 2 hours and 30 minutes.
I am hoping to remember to take some pictures of our new remodel projects and get them posted in the near future... and hopefully - cross your fingers- the finished project pictures shortly after that:):):)

Update on Issaac

Sorry family I haven't given this update sooner. Issaac's surgery went really well. He ended up having two breaks in his leg so the doctor had to put a bigger plate in. Issaac is recovering very well. The swelling has gone down but he has quite a bit of atrophy in his right leg now. We went to the doctor yesterday and he took new x-rays which we got to see. Everything looks good but the doctor wants Issaac to take another 2 weeks off of work and return to see him in a month. I'm on spring break this week so Issaac and I are going to go look at houses Wed and Thurs. I hope all is well with the family. I've attached a photo of Issaac and I at his brothers wedding last October.

Fun in Chicago

Hey Fam! Sorry it's been so long since I've been on here. Luanne, love the new background! So cute and very festive! Well, things for me have been going pretty well. I'm sure you all heard how Chicago got pounded with its 3rd worst blizzard in over 50 years. It was actually a fun adventure for me and my first time being snowed in! T (my roommate) and I made the best of it and had fun cooking and watching movies. I posted pics up on facebook for ya to see the 3 feet of snow we got in 24 hours. It was nuts!

Another fun adventure was with some friends a few weeks ago. We went to "Your Never Too Old" Prom, which was a fundraiser for some friends of mine who are going to Hatti this summer. What started off as a joke turned into a real deal prom, which most of its attendees are around 10 years out of high school. There was all the elements of prom like a court, chaperones, and prom perfessional pictures. It was pretty funny and entertaining to see some people arrive in 80's attire. My friend and co-worker, Missy (in the center of the picture) was also voted Prom Queen. She never went to prom in high school, but now is titled Prom Queen. I told her "See dreams can come true, even if it's 10 years later!" lol, it was a fun time.

a mouse in our house!

So everyone- we had a mouse in our house- yikes! We set some traps and could NOT catch the thing UNTIL last night. I saw it scurry into our spare room and Larry and I, thru some pretty impressive teamwork, managed to wrangle it into our humane live trap! Success! Meet Gus Gus our little (adorable in my opinion) mouse.
